Scott Jaeger

Owner/Business Manager


Scott will likely be the first person you talk to when you call Thrift Painting. A valued team member since 1993, Scott has extensive knowledge of our services and processes, ensuring he can answer any questions you may have about your current or upcoming project. When he’s not in the office, Scott’s probably en route to a concert. A true music enthusiast, he loves seeing as many live bands as he can. Scott’s dedication to both Thrift Painting and his passion for music brings a lively spirit to our team and a wealth of expertise to our clients.

Brian Anderson

Owner/Estimator


Brian, a second-generation painter from Northern Minnesota, has been perfecting his craft since the age of ten. A lifelong music enthusiast with a particular love for Classic Rock, Brian brings his passion and dedication to every project. Now residing in Watertown, he remains loyal to his Minnesota sports teams. If you’re located east of Dane County, chances are Brian will be the one to handle your painting needs with his expert touch!

Larry Vanko

Owner/Estimator (Retired)


Larry has been a valued member of Thrift Painting since 1979, bringing his expertise and friendly approach to every project. As one of our primary estimators, he’ll likely be the one calling to schedule your bid, and he’s always available to help with color selection or answer any questions you might have about our process. Known for his attention to detail, Larry often checks in during projects to ensure everything runs smoothly or to lend a hand when needed. Outside of work, Larry enjoys fishing, bird-watching, and cheering on the Packers!

John Kitto

Company Founder (Retired)


John was with Thrift Painting from 1971 to 2016, growing the company from a small team in the 70s to one of Madison’s largest painting contractors. After retiring a few years ago, he sold his share to the trusted, long-term employees mentioned above. Never one to sit still, John has embarked on an exciting new venture with his son, Rob. You’ll now find him at Lake Edge Seafood Co. on Monona Drive, running a unique market and restaurant that offers high-quality fish and seafood.
